The Reasonist’s Party Roots
I started this new political party in February 2011 when I grew weary of politicians who make promises they never keep. I grew weary of elected officials playing political games that serve no good purpose but are done to insure their re-election, rather than doing what is best for the American people. I grew weary of corporate America buying elections. I grew weary of in-fighting among political parties. I grew weary of politicians making decisions based on their deep-seeded religious beliefs.
I wanted something different. I wanted to organize a group of people who are capable of understanding that there are a lot of gray areas surrounding most issues we face today. Not everything is black and white. I wanted to bring together intelligent, rational, reasonable people – reasonists – who are capable of examining those gray areas with a mindset of doing that which is just, rather than that which is personally beneficial.
Mission Statement
We will not always take the path to the left, nor will we always take the path to the right … nor will we stand persistently in the middle. We will always take the higher road to that which is just.
Mission
The American Reason Party’s sole purpose for existence is to get its endorsed candidates elected to office on the local, state and national levels. We support candidates who faithfully adopt our mission statement, are reasonists in nature, and who honestly want to serve the public rather than themselves. We support fellow reasonists.
